In any job management system, an invoice has two jobs: look professional when it lands, and never let you lose track of whether it was paid. Chippie handles both from the phone.

Sending

Send the invoice by email straight from your phone, on site if you like. The client gets a professional PDF plus a secure, time-limited link to view the invoice online. They do not need an account or a login.

The email wording is yours: quote and invoice emails are editable templates with placeholders for the client name, business name and invoice number, so the message sounds like you and not like software.

What the client sees

Your accepted payment methods (bank transfer, card, cash) come from your business settings and appear on the invoice and in the email, so the client knows exactly how to pay without a back-and-forth.

Tracking to paid

Payment tracking follows the real-world states: a client can mark a payment as submitted, you can confirm it, or you can mark the invoice paid directly when the money lands. The paid date is recorded automatically and consistently, which keeps your records straight without you thinking about it.

Common questions

How do I know which invoices are still unpaid?

The dashboard surfaces outstanding invoices, and each client's history shows paid and unpaid work in one place.

Can the client pay by card from the invoice?

Card payments are supported through Stripe. See Taking payments for setup.

What if I sent the wrong amount?

Edit the invoice and resend. The secure link shows the current version.
