The Vault for licences, insurance and certificates

Keep your insurance, licences, warranties and other business documents in the Vault, with expiry dates. Signed SWMS and sent service reports are saved there for you.

Open the Vault, press Upload Document, and add the file with its type and expiry date.

Where: Vault (under More on smaller screens)

  1. Open Vault from the menu.
  2. Press Upload Document.
  3. Enter a Name, choose the Document type (Insurance, Licence, Warranty or Other), and add an Expiry date if it has one.
  4. Choose the File (PDF, JPEG, PNG or HEIC, up to 50 MB) and upload.

Watch out: expiring documents are listed at the top of the Vault, but Chippie sends no reminder. Check the Expiring within 30 days panel.

Finding a document

Filter by type (All types, Insurance, Licence, SWMS, Warranty, Service report, Other) and sort by Newest first or Name A–Z. Open one with View to read it in the browser, or Download original.

Added for you

  • SWMS: each finalised SWMS is saved as a signed PDF.
  • Service reports: each service report you send from a job.

What doesn't go here

Job photos and quote or invoice files belong on the record itself; see Photos and files. Vault documents cannot be linked to a job or client.

Deleting a document asks first and cannot be undone.

Common questions#

Where do I keep my insurance certificate?
In the Vault. Press Upload Document, name it, choose Insurance as the Document type, add the Expiry date and the file.
Where does the signed SWMS go?
Into the Vault under SWMS, as soon as it is finalised. Filter the Vault by SWMS to find it.
Does Chippie remind me when my insurance expires?
The Vault lists documents expiring within 30 days at the top of the page. No notification or email is sent.
What files can I upload?
PDF, JPEG, PNG or HEIC, up to 50 MB each.
Can I attach a Vault document to a job or client?
No. The Vault is for business documents. Photos and files for a job go on the quote or job; see Photos and files.
Where are the service reports I sent?
In the Vault under Service report, and on the job itself.
