Plans and billing

Free covers 1 user and 20 jobs a month. Professional adds unlimited jobs and a second user; Team includes 4 users and more. The owner changes the plan on the web under Upgrade Plan.

Plans are per business. The owner changes the plan on the web: account menu > Upgrade Plan.

Where: Upgrade Plan (owner only, on the web)

Sign in on the web as the business owner.
Open the account menu (top right; More on a phone) and choose Upgrade Plan.
Pick Monthly or Yearly, then press Upgrade to Professional or Upgrade to Team.
Pay in the secure checkout. The plan applies straight away.

Watch out: only the owner can change the plan, and not in the iPhone or Android app. Use a browser.

Trials

A new business may start on a Professional trial. While it runs, the team page says when it ends. Afterwards the business goes back to Free unless you choose a plan, and people past Free's one user lose access until you upgrade.

Your billing page

Billing shows your plan, status, price and next billing date, with Cancel Subscription. Cancelling keeps the plan until the end of the paid period.

Changing to a smaller plan

Choosing a plan with fewer users asks who keeps access first. Others are suspended, not deleted, and come back if you upgrade again.

Common questions#

What does the Free plan include?

One user, 20 jobs a month, unlimited clients, quotes and invoices, email sending, scheduling, PDFs and Chip AI. No card, no expiry.

What happens when I hit 20 jobs on Free?

Accepting another quote shows "You've hit your monthly job limit". Your records stay; the count resets on the 1st, or upgrade for unlimited jobs.

How many users does each plan have?

Free 1, Professional 2, Team 4 included with extra users added for a monthly fee each.

How do I upgrade?

The business owner opens Upgrade Plan in the account menu on the web (chippieapp.com in a browser) and picks a plan. Other team members see "Only the business owner can change the plan".

Why can't I upgrade in the iPhone or Android app?

The app stores do not allow buying outside their own payment systems, so plan changes happen on the web. Sign in at chippieapp.com in a browser and open Upgrade Plan.

Is Chip AI extra?

No. Chip works on every plan.

Is there a yearly price?

Yes. Paying yearly gives you 2 months free.

How do I cancel?

Open Billing and press Cancel Subscription. The plan runs to the end of the paid period, then the business returns to Free.

Is the plan per user or per business?

Per business. Each plan includes its users; only Team adds a charge for users past four.

Getting started with Chippie Confirm your email, send your first quote, add your logo, then invoice and get paid. The Getting started checklist on your dashboard walks you through each step.
Confirm your email so quotes can go out Quotes and invoices go out in the account owner's name, so the owner's email must be confirmed first. Open the link we emailed, or press Send me a new link in the send window.
From the demo to your own business Enter your email on the demo banner and press Get Started, set your name and password, then press Set Up Business, name your business and choose to keep or clear the sample data.
Install the Chippie app Get Chippie for iPhone from the App Store or for Android from Google Play, and sign in with the same email. On a computer, use it in your browser or add it as an app.
Working with no signal Pages you have opened, and your upcoming jobs, open with no signal. Edits to descriptions, prices, photos, signatures and job holds are kept on your phone and sent when you're back online.
Speak instead of typing Tap the microphone beside a description or notes box, speak, and tap it again. Chippie types what you said into the box, after anything already there.
Your dashboard, Business Pulse and the map The dashboard shows what's on today and this week, what's waiting and what you're owed. Business Pulse, linked under the dashboard's numbers, shows your win rate, trends and stuck quotes. The Map shows every job and client.
Managing clients Add clients one at a time, import them from your phone's contacts or Xero, or paste a list into Chip. Every quote, job and invoice for a customer stays on their record.
Finding and merging duplicate clients Open Clients, Possible duplicates to see clients that look like copies, pick the one to keep and merge the rest into it. Their quotes, jobs and invoices move across. Merging can't be undone.
Several addresses and contacts for one client A client can have many sites (addresses), each with its own contacts such as a tenant or caretaker. Add sites on the client's page under Sites, and site contacts on the site's page. Every quote and job at that address shares them.
Assets and service history Record the units you service at a site, such as an air conditioner, pump or cool room, and keep each one's service history. Set up asset types in Settings, Assets, add units on the site's page, and record each visit from the job.
Your public profile page A free web page for your business with a request-a-quote form, ready to share on Facebook, Google or in a text when you can't take a call.
Your logo, licences and business numbers on documents Add your logo, licence numbers and ABN or company number once, and they print on every quote and invoice. What shows where.
Quote, job and invoice numbers Every quote, job and invoice is numbered for you. How to set where numbering starts, for example to carry on from your old system.
Changing your region or tax registration Your region sets your currency, tax, date format and bank fields. What changes when you switch region, or register or deregister for GST or VAT.
Inviting your team Go to Team Management, press Invite Member, enter their email and role, and press Send Invitation. Free has 1 user, Professional 2, Team 4 plus extra users.
Team roles and permissions Owner does everything; Manager runs the business but not billing; Member does the day-to-day work with prices; Field sees their own jobs without prices. Change what each role can do under Team Management, Roles.
Your account and signing in Sign in with your password or press Email me a sign-in link. Change your name and password, switch business or delete your account on My Account.
Notifications Choose what you hear about in Settings, Notifications. Each event can show a toast, go in the bell, send a push to your phone and play a sound. Turn on push once per phone or browser.
Your own statuses, like "Waiting on materials" Click the coloured status badge on a quote, job or invoice to give it one of your own workflow statuses, or press Add Status to make a new one. Rename and arrange them in Settings, Theme & Appearance.
Changing the wording of your emails and texts Edit the email and text message your clients get in Settings. Quote wording is on the Quotes tab, invoice wording on the Invoicing tab. Placeholders like {client_name} fill in for each client.
Creating your first quote Press New Quote on the Quotes page, pick the client, describe the work, add a price or line items, press Create Quote, then Send it by email or text.
From quote to job Accepting a quote creates the job and a draft invoice. Jobs can also be created without a quote. The job keeps the quote's details as they were agreed.
Photos and files on quotes, jobs and invoices Press Add Photo on the quote or job page to take or choose photos. Tick Show to client on each one the client should see. PDFs and other files go on a quote or invoice through Edit on its list row, then Notes, Add Attachment.
What your client sees, and how they accept Your client opens the link in your quote email or text, reads the quote, and presses Accept quote or Decline. Accepting makes the job and invoice for you. Invoices have an I've paid this invoice button.
Enquiries from your website and profile Quote requests from your public profile, your website form or the Find a tradie map land in Enquiries on the Quotes page. Open one and press Make pending quote to start the quote.
Following up quotes with no reply Ask Chip "which quotes need a follow-up?" to list quotes sent a week or more ago with no answer, and have Chip re-send the ones you pick. Or open the quote and send it again.
From job to invoice Chippie drafts the invoice when a quote is accepted. Mark the job complete and the invoice is ready to send. There is no separate invoice to create.
Sending and tracking invoices Send an invoice by email or text from the invoice page, give the client a link that opens with no login, and see which invoices are unpaid or overdue.
Taking payments Clients pay you by bank transfer and tell you with one tap. You confirm the payment, or mark cash and other payments as paid yourself.
Payment reminders Have Chippie email clients about unpaid invoices on a schedule you set, asking you first or sending on its own.
Bank details on your invoices Add your bank account once in Settings and every invoice shows it, so clients can pay by transfer. Where to enter it, and where it appears.
Connecting Xero Push your clients, invoices and payments from Chippie to Xero automatically, with paid status flowing back. How to connect, which accounts to choose, and what syncs.
Scheduling jobs and your crew Open the job and press Schedule to book a visit, ticking who's going. To add a worker later, open the visit, press Assign, tick them and press Save Crew.
Recurring jobs Set up repeat work once on Jobs, Recurring Jobs, or from a job with Make Recurring, and Chippie makes each job on schedule, ready to book and invoice.
Timesheets, clocking on and visit time Turn on Timesheets in Settings, Features. Then clock on and off from the dashboard or My time, time each visit from the job page, and see everyone's hours on the Timesheet tab of the Calendar.
Job costing and profit on a job Turn on Job costing in Settings, Features. Each job then has a Job costing card where you add costs, labour hours and an estimate, and see cost to date, profit and margin.
Private notes on quotes, jobs and invoices Quotes, jobs and invoices have a Notes card for your team only. On a quote or job press Add notes (or the pencil, Edit), type, and press Save. Clients never see notes.
GST on quotes and invoices Answer Yes to GST registration in Settings, Tax tab, and press Save Region & Registration. Every quote and invoice then adds GST; tap a line's GST chip to make that line GST-free.
What Chip AI does (and won't do) Chip answers how-to questions with a link to the exact page, looks up your records, and drafts changes you approve with one tap. It never invents a price and never writes without your tap.

The Vault for licences, insurance and certificates Keep your insurance, licences, warranties and other business documents in the Vault, with expiry dates. Signed SWMS and sent service reports are saved there for you.
Exporting all your data Download every record and file your business keeps in Chippie, as spreadsheets and JSON, on every plan.
Deleting clients, quotes, jobs and invoices Delete from the record's menu or its list row. Deleting a client also deletes its quotes, jobs and invoices; deleting a quote deletes its job and invoice. The confirm window lists everything that goes. It cannot be undone.
