Chippie can email your clients about unpaid invoices for you. It's part of the Pro plan and is off until you turn it on.
Turning it on
- Open Settings and go to the Invoicing tab.
- In the Payment reminders card, switch on Send payment reminders.
- Choose how reminders go out:
- Ask me first: due reminders wait for you. Chippie lets you know once a day, and you send or skip each one.
- Send automatically: each reminder goes out on its day without asking you.
- Pick the send time (your local time) and whether to skip weekends.
- Check the reminders. There are three to start: 3 days before the due date, 7 days overdue and 14 days overdue. You can change the timing and wording, add up to six, or untick one to stop it. Click Preview to see one as your client will read it.
- Click Save reminders.
You can use {client_name}, {invoice_number}, {amount_due}, {due_date}, {days_overdue}
and {business_name} in the subject and text; Chippie fills them in for each invoice.
What gets a reminder
Every invoice that has been sent and isn't paid yet, with a due date and a client email address. Each reminder goes once per invoice. If several fall due on the same day, only the latest is sent. Invoices the client has marked as paid get none.
A reminder is your invoice email: the same PDF and pay link, with the reminder's wording.
Approving reminders
With Ask me first, open the link in the daily notification, or N payment reminders waiting for you at the top of the Invoices page. Send or skip each reminder, or click Send all.
Stopping reminders for one invoice or client
- One invoice: open the invoice and switch on Pause for this invoice in its Payment reminders card. The card also shows the next reminder and every reminder already sent.
- One client: open the client and tick Don't send automatic payment reminders to this client.
