Open the jobs you need while you have signal. With none, those pages still open, and most edits wait on your phone until you reconnect.
Where: works everywhere: the iPhone and Android apps and the browser
- With signal, open the app as usual. It quietly saves your next week's visits and recent records for offline use.
- With no signal, open any page you have visited. A bar says you are looking at a saved copy.
- Make your edits. The amber bar counts them: "Offline ยท 1 change waiting".
- When signal returns, they send by themselves.
Watch out: creating new records, starting or completing a job, and scheduling need signal.
What you can do with no signal
| Works | Needs signal |
|---|---|
| Open pages you've visited and your upcoming visits | Pages you've never opened |
| Edit a quote or job description, price and line items | Edit an invoice |
| Hold, resume or revert a job to Ready | Start, complete or cancel a job |
| Take and add photos | Create a client, quote, job or invoice |
| Get a client signature | Schedule or reschedule, assign crew |
| Record unit readings on a service visit | Change a workflow status |
| Send a quote or invoice email (goes when you reconnect) | Accept a quote, take payments, change settings |
When your change arrives
Chippie checks it like any other save. If someone else changed the same thing first, you see both versions and choose; Save mine anyway keeps yours. A change that cannot be made shows "Not saved" with the reason.
Totals, tax and status labels show "updates after sync" until then.
With signal: changes show up straight away
When you have signal, a change made on one phone or computer appears on everyone else's open pages within moments, without refreshing: the office sees a job started on site, and the crew sees a visit moved.
Saved pages are cleared
Signing out, signing in and switching business clear the saved pages from the device.
