Clients pay faster when the invoice tells them exactly where to pay. Enter your bank account once and Chippie prints it on every invoice.
Adding your bank details
- Open Settings and go to the Invoicing tab.
- Under Payment Configuration, find Bank Transfer and make sure Enable is on.
- Fill in Bank Name, Account Name and your account details.
- Optionally add a Custom Description, for example "Please use the invoice number as the reference".
Changes save as you type. There is no save button.
The account fields follow your business's region:
| Region | Fields |
|---|---|
| Australia | BSB, Account number, PayID (optional) |
| United Kingdom | Sort code, Account number, IBAN (optional) |
| Ireland and the EU | IBAN, BIC (optional) |
| New Zealand | Account number |
| United States | Routing number, Account number |
| Canada | Institution number, Transit number, Account number |
Where your bank details appear
- The invoice PDF: every detail you entered, under Bank transfer.
- The client's online invoice: a Direct Deposit section with your bank and account details.
- The invoice email: it tells the client the bank details are on the invoice, attached and online, along with your Custom Description. The account number itself stays out of the email body, so the email isn't caught by spam and security filters.
Invoices always show your current bank details. Change them in Settings and every invoice shows the new account the next time it is opened, downloaded or sent. If you change your business's region, only the new region's fields print.
Turning bank transfer off
Switch off Enable under Bank Transfer and your bank details disappear from every invoice. Your details stay saved, so switching it back on brings them back.
