Photos and files on quotes, jobs and invoices

Press Add Photo on the quote or job page to take or choose photos. Tick Show to client on each one the client should see. PDFs and other files go on a quote or invoice through Edit on its list row, then Notes, Add Attachment.

Open the quote or job and press Add Photo. Tick Show to client on each photo the client should see.

Where: the quote or job page, Photos card

  1. Open the quote from Quotes or the job from Jobs.
  2. Press Add Photo in the Photos card. With no photos yet, it sits in the Quote Details or Job Details card header.
  3. Choose Camera or Library (on iPhone, pick from the sheet that opens). Photos upload straight away.
  4. Tick Show to client on each photo the client should see.

Watch out: photos are private until you tick Show to client. When you send a quote with no client photos, Chippie warns you and offers Choose photos.

Photos in the description or a line item

In the description editor, press Add image to put a photo in the text, or use the photo button on a line item. This works while creating a quote too. A photo placed this way always shows to the client and is marked "In the description" or "Under a line item" instead of having a tick.

Captions, order and deleting

Tap a photo to open it full size, add a caption or delete it. Drag photos in the strip to change their order. The strip shows four photos and a "+" count for the rest.

PDFs and other files

Documents go on quotes and invoices, in the notes:

  1. On Quotes or Invoices, press Edit on its row (on a phone: the three dots, then Edit Quote or Edit Invoice).
  2. In Notes, press Add Attachment (or Add Image).
  3. Press Update Quote or save the invoice.

Files show under Attachments: in the Notes card on the quote or invoice page. A new quote must be saved before files can go in its notes. An invoice can be edited only while it is a draft, pending or unpaid. Jobs have no Add Attachment button; files on the quote are copied to the job when it is accepted.

From quote to job

Accepting a quote copies its photos and files to the job. They are copies: changing the quote's photos afterwards does not change the job's.

Licences, insurance and other business documents belong in the Vault, not on a job.
