Looks like you're in United States. See Chippie for United States, with local pricing and tax.
Go to the United States siteYour region sets your currency and money format, your tax name and rate, the date format, address labels, and the bank fields on your invoices. Your tax registration decides whether your documents charge tax.
Changing your region
- Open Settings and go to the Tax tab.
- Choose your Country / Region, for example "Australia (AUD, GST 10%)".
- Tap Save Region & Registration.
Chippie supports Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy.
When you change region:
- Your currency, tax name, tax rate and date format switch to the new region's.
- A custom tax rate is replaced by the new region's standard rate. Set it again if you need it.
- Your invoices print the new region's bank fields. Re-enter your account on the Invoicing tab.
- Existing quotes and invoices keep their prices.
Registering or deregistering for GST or VAT
On the Tax tab, answer Are you registered for GST? (or VAT, depending on your region). When you change the answer, Chippie shows what will happen before you save:
- Registering: your unsent quotes, jobs and draft invoices with line items are recalculated to charge tax.
- No longer registered: choose Remove GST to take tax off your unsent documents, or Leave as they are. Your saved GST or VAT number is cleared.
Invoices you have issued, accepted quotes and completed jobs never change.
While you're registered, the Tax tab also sets your tax number, whether the prices you type include tax, and a custom rate if you need one. In Australia it also holds your BAS settings. While you're not registered, you can print a note such as "Not registered for GST" on your documents.
