What Chip AI does (and won't do)

Chip reads your business data, drafts admin behind an approval card, and polishes wording. It never invents a price and never writes without your tap.

In any job management system, an AI assistant is only as useful as the data underneath it, and only as safe as the limits around it. Chip works on your own Chippie data, and its limits are part of the design, not fine print: Chip never invents a price (its drafting tools only take amounts you state), every write waits for a human tap (anything that changes data shows you an approval card first), and Chip can only do what is on its tool list, nothing beyond it.

What Chip can look up

Ask Chip about your own business and it answers from your records: jobs, clients, quotes, outstanding invoices, revenue this month, recent activity, what is on the calendar. It reads; you decide what to do with the answer.

What Chip can draft, behind approval

Chip can do real admin: create clients, draft and create invoices, record payments, send invoice emails, and add job notes. Every one of those shows you an approval card before anything is written. Nothing changes in your business without your tap, and the amounts on anything money-related are amounts you stated.

Wording and imports

Chip's description polish tidies the wording on quotes, jobs and invoices (you see the rewrite first and can undo it). Chip also handles imports: paste a messy contact list and it becomes client records in bulk, or upload an invoice PDF or photo and it reads it into a structured record.

What Chip will not do

Chip does not price jobs, does not chase invoices unattended, and does not answer your phone. Those are judgment calls and client relationships, and they stay yours. If you want the reasoning behind those limits, it is the same "systems first" thinking the whole product is built on.

Common questions

Is Chip on the free plan?

Yes. Chip works on the free tier.

Can Chip send an email without me?

No. Sending an invoice email is a write, and every write waits for your approval tap.

Where does Chip's information come from?

Your own Chippie records only. That is why keeping quotes, jobs and invoices in the system makes Chip more useful: the assistant is only as good as the context it can read.
