Pick a role when you invite someone: Owner, Manager, Member or Field. Change what a role can do under Team Management > Roles.
Where: Team roles
- Open Team Management and press Roles (Owner and Managers only).
- Tick or untick permissions under a role, then press Save under that role.
- To change one person, open their Actions menu > permissions.
- To change someone's role, use the role picker on their row.
Watch out: Members and Field can open Settings but cannot save it. Their edits show "Not saved".
The four roles
| Role | Can | Cannot |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, transferring ownership and closing the business | |
| Manager | Everything a Member can, plus inviting and removing people, roles and settings | Billing, transfer ownership, close the business |
| Member (default) | Clients, quotes, jobs, invoices, scheduling and assigning work, with prices and reports | Team, settings, billing |
| Field | Their jobs and visits, the schedule, sites, assets, client contacts, photos and notes | Prices, quotes, invoices, reports, assigning work |
Field opens the job list and calendar on their own work and can switch to everyone's.
Permissions you can tick
Each role is a set of permissions such as See prices, totals, costs and other money figures, Assign people to jobs and visits and Change business settings. Reset to default puts a role back. Billing, transferring ownership and closing the business stay with the Owner whatever you tick.
Roles work the same on every plan. Chip AI follows the same permissions: a Field worker's Chip cannot see prices.
