In any job management system, the setup order is the same: business details first, then a client, then the first quote. Everything else (jobs, invoices, payments) hangs off those three. Chippie follows that order, and the free plan covers all of it: one user, 20 jobs a month, no credit card.
Set up your business details
Your quotes and invoices are only as professional as the details on them. In Settings, add your business name, ABN, logo, and contact details. If you are GST registered, switch GST on here once and every quote and invoice after that calculates it for you.
Add your first client
A client record is a name and a way to reach them. Add a client from the Clients screen, or add one on the fly while making your first quote. Chippie keeps every quote, job, and invoice for a client in one place, so the history is there next time they call.
Send your first quote
Create a quote, add line items with a description and amount, and email it straight to the client. The client gets a clean PDF and a link to view it online. When they accept, turn the quote into a job with one tap. The job carries the quoted details with it, and when the work is done, the job becomes the invoice the same way.
What to do next
Work the loop: quote, job, invoice, paid. Once that feels normal, set up card payments through Stripe so clients can pay the invoice the moment it lands, and use the calendar to schedule jobs as they book in.
