Tradify in the UK: the cost for your crew, and who it suits
Tradify charges £34 to £44 a month for each person who logs in. Chippie Pro is £15 a month with two people on it, and a sole trader can start free. Here is the cost for a crew of one to six, checked on 28 October 2026.
Start freeKey takeaways
- Tradify lists its UK plans at £34 (Lite), £37 (Pro) and £44 (Plus) per user per month, verified 28 October 2026. Its page does not say whether VAT is included.
- Three people on Tradify Pro is £111 a month as listed. Six is £222.
- Chippie Pro is £15 a month including 2 users, Team £25 including 4, extra users £5 each. Chippie prices include VAT.
- Tradify has no free plan in the UK: a 14-day trial, then a paid plan. Chippie is free for one user up to 20 jobs a month, with no card.
- Tradify issues compliance certificates and sends boiler service reminders. Chippie does neither, so gas and electrical firms that live on certificates should weigh that first.
What does Tradify cost a crew of one to six?#
Tradify prices every UK plan per person. Add a second person and the bill goes up by a full seat; Chippie's plans include two people on Pro and 4 on Team.
| Tradify Lite | Tradify Pro | Tradify Plus | Chippie | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sole trader | £34 | £37 | £44 | Free up to 20 jobs, or Pro £15 |
| Two people | £68 | £74 | £88 | Pro £15 |
| Four people | £136 | £148 | £176 | Team £25 |
| Six people | £204 | £222 | £264 | Team plus 2 users, £35 |
Tradify's UK page does not say whether those prices include VAT. If they turn out to be before VAT, add 20% to every Tradify figure in the table. Text messages are extra on Tradify too: £0.10 each for quotes, invoices and reminders sent by SMS.
| Tradify Lite, 4 users at £34 for 12 months | £1,632 |

| Tradify Pro, 4 users at £37 for 12 months | £1,776 |
| Chippie Team, 4 users, paid yearly | £250 |
Tradify as listed on its UK pricing page, verified 28 October 2026. Chippie Team billed yearly is ten months for twelve, including VAT. Check tradifyhq.com/uk/pricing before you budget.
Plan by plan, what you get#
| Chippie | Tradify | |
|---|---|---|
| Cheapest paid plan | £15/mo, 2 users | £34/user/mo (Lite) |
| Free plan | One user, 20 jobs a month | None, 14-day trial |
| Quotes and VAT invoices | Yes | Yes |
| Your logo on documents | Every plan | Pro and above |
| Compliance certificates | No | Pro and above |
| Boiler service reminders | No | Plus |
| Timesheets | Team plan | Pro and above |
| Purchase orders | No | Plus |

| Accounting sync | Xero, on Pro and Team | Xero, Sage, QuickBooks Online |
| iPhone, Android and desktop | Yes | Yes |
Quoting, scheduling and invoicing with VAT are on both sides of the table. Tradify is deeper on certificates and purchase orders; Chippie costs less per head and opens a job in a basement with no signal.
VAT and Making Tax Digital#
Chippie works in pounds with UK addresses and dates. Tick that you are VAT registered, add your VAT number, and every quote and invoice works out VAT at the standard 20% rate line by line. Not registered yet? Leave it unticked and no VAT line appears. HMRC requires registration once taxable turnover passes £90,000 in a rolling 12 months.
When is Tradify the better fit?#
- You issue certificates on most jobs. Tradify includes compliance certificates from Pro and boiler service reminders on Plus, which a Gas Safe registered engineer or an NICEIC-registered electrician will want to check against the certificates they issue.
- You raise purchase orders or bulk invoices. Both are on Tradify Plus.
- Your accountant works in Sage or QuickBooks. Tradify syncs with both.
For a business doing that kind of work every week, the higher price per head is paying for something you use.
Who Chippie suits#
A sole trader or a crew of up to about six who mostly need to quote on site, keep each job's photos and notes with the job, and get a VAT invoice out the same day. The person doing the books should not cost a full seat, and on Chippie Pro they do not. You can start on the free plan with no card and stay there while you are under 20 jobs a month.
Leaving Tradify#
Tradify bills monthly with no contract, in arrears: the last payment, covering the 1st of the month to the day you cancel, comes out on the 7th of the following month, and the account closes when you cancel. So export first.
- Export your customers from Tradify as a CSV file. Jobs, quotes and invoices export the same way.
- Write down future bookings by hand: Tradify's appointments do not export.
- Download PDFs of the invoices you have sent. HMRC says VAT records are kept for at least six years.
- Send us the customer file and we load it into Chippie at no cost, usually within the day.
